The greater the discrimination and the more it"s institutionalized, the more likely is a subpopulation to develop. The less discrimination the population experiences, the less identifiable the subpopulation is by the dominant sub pop. Once a subpopulation is forced to maintain its identity as a result of discrimination, ironically it becomes an easier target for further discrimination (32) Assumes racism belongs to the realm of ideas and prejudices.
