Cross cutting social ties imply future interaction among more than three people. Cross cutting social ties encourages compensation of the victim by the offender. Higher archery occurs when there is a high status offender and a low status victim. A low status offender and high status victim eliminates compensation and brings in penal control. Low status offenders have little to make things right with a high status victim. High status offenders and high status victims increases the chance of compensation. When organizations commit deviance, compensation is the most likely preferred social control. When an individual who is part of an organization commits deviance as part of a role in that organization, the organizational role has compensation become more likely. When an organization is an actor or an individual is acting in their organizational role, compensation becomes more likely. Inside deviance occurs when both the offender and victim are integrated in part of the community.
