Document Summary
Physics 201 lectures 3-6, taught by ilia gogoladze. - - - - - - - - - - -moion with constant acceleraion - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Posiion as a funcion of ime x=x 0+ v 0 t+ Velocity as a funcion of posiion v. 2 ( v 0+ v)t x=x 0+ v 0 t+ Aristotle claimed that an object falls at a speed proporional to its weight. Galileo showed that dropped objects fall to the ground at the same ime when air resistance is negligible. An object falling in air is subject to air resistance, and therefore is not freely falling. Free-fall is the moion of an object subject only to the inluence of gravity. The acceleraion due to gravity is a constant g= 9. 81m/s 2. Be careful not to confuse g for grams is the average at the earth"s surface.
