CHE 381 Lecture Notes - Lecture 13: Time Management
Document Summary
Successful communication together with a willingness to take responsibility for a defined component of a project is an essential prerequisite for managing team activities and working within a project schedule. The key to being proactive, is realizing that you hold the responsibility for your own actions and decisions. Blaming others or leaving the work (and thus your fate) to others may make you feel better temporarily, but it is not effective at all. They cannot do everything and do them all perfectly within a limited timeframe. To be effective, teams must be extremely results-oriented. As a team, decide on your priorities and focus on the important tasks to achieve your goals. Many people listen with the intent to reply, not to understand. This habit is especially evident when there is a disagreement in a team. Strive to understand first before seeking to be understood.
