Document Summary

What are clinical trials? for determining whether a treatment, drug, device, or strategy is e ective and safe to treat various ailments, illnesses, and disorders in humans. A clinical trial is a type of research study: its results are interpreted and applied in the medical world to determine the best course of action for treating individual patients. Clinical trials are often the last step in approving the application of a discovery in the medical world. Before clinical trials take place, the treatment of drug is tested in a laboratory and later in animals like mice. Both government agencies and private institutions such as universities and nonpro t organizations, sponsor clinical trials. Some of the groups focus on speci c aspects of a treatment of drug, such as its e ects on a certain demographic and the e ectiveness of certain medicines. Being part of clinical trial does not only entail receiving the drug or treatment being tested and monitored.
