Creates new form of sun god to be worshipped with the others aten (sun disk) Changes his primary name to akhenaten the effective spirit of aten . Moves self, family, and court of officials out of thebes to roughly middle of egypt influences a different style of art. Creates new capital: akhetaten ( horizon of aten) tell el amarna. City is deliberately planned out weird for that time.
