Encoding: process of getting information into our memory banks. Mnemonic: a learning aid, strategy, or device that enhances recall: music: can improve long-term retention. Storage: process of keeping info in memory. Schema: organized knowledge structure or mental model that we"ve stored: can lead us to remember things that never happened, sometimes in memory oversimplify and create memory illusions. Retrieval: reactivation or reconstruction of experiences from our memory stores. Retrieval cue: hint that makes it easier for us to recall information. Recognition: selecting previously remembered info from an array of options.
