Humans are designed as agents: designed to act physical and mental health are possible only when body is regularly active, consequence of agency is that human nature is teleological. Libido sex drive: freud said that libido was main motivation for human behavior. Darwinian theory suggests that humans want to maximize their offspring. Humans repress their libido because society tells us to do so. Everything humans do has an underlying symbolization of sexual motivation: reproduction is optional with humans people try to prevent getting pregnant. Hierarchy of needs by abraham maslow: more fundamental needs and immediate needs come before less critical, long term needs. Physiological needs all needs of a person"s physical organism: water, nutrients, food, etc. Safety needs when safety is threatened, all resources of humans are made available to address the need: children tend to obviously show their need for safety more so than adults. Belongingness and love needs people need love and comfort.
