Reintegrative shaming-condemn the act, not the actor, a sense of community forgiveness follows. Disintegrative shaming- both offense and offender are labeled deviant. Emphasizes that a deviant label operates like a (cid:440)master status(cid:441) Status that has an overriding effect on our perception of another person. Diversion (keep kids out of the system)
