Book 19: achilles refuses to eat, and readies for battle. Ambrosia and nector food of the gods (achilles takes these foods with him into battle) Book 20: achilles puts the trojans into rout as they flee to the city! Achilles takes twelve young trojans alive, as the blood price for patroclus" death . Achilles takes on the river god, with hephaestus" help (fire vs. water) At this point, achilles has become immoral due to the death of his friend. Not noble; does not respect hector"s dead corpse. Hector: fights because he has to fulfill the heroic code. Runs at first (gets chased around troy 3 trips)
