Emotion focused (active) ex: calling your mom to discuss stresses: target and remove, information seeking/learn skills emotions that are bothering you, reduce negative emotions, open discussion venting, distraction, reappraisal. Avoidance: denial, associated with poor outcomes. Guided mastery: cognitive restructuring self-efficiency, behavioral skills training.
