As of 2015, porn generated billion in revenue in the u. s. ; billion globally. 4% of the 1 million most popular websites on the internet are pornographic: 10-15% of internet searches. Pornography is protected under the first amendment as free speech. Obscenity: individual items must meet all 3 standards of 1973 miller vs. california obscenity test to be considered obscene. Lacking serious artistic, literary, political or scientific value. Number of youth involved in pornography is growing. 21. 8% of adult film covers featured youth-sexualized imagery : mostly girls, imagery increased over time. Searches for teen porn have more than tripled between 2005-2013. Physical aggression in: 14% - 28% of scenes prior to 2000, 88% of scenes in 275 top-rented films 2004-2005. Content analysis of pornographic video: n=3,376 acts of violence. Anecdotal not scientific; real examples: ted bundy, hustler, etc, correlation between rape and porn is clear, logical association, but, no time sequence, or other causes can"t be ruled out.
