Social closure can be defined as certain groups that maintain their resources by the excluding others from their group based on certain criteria. An example from the article would be how the survey mostly focuses on low income parents and high income parents. To go even further the article even speaks about single parents versus two parent households. Social roles are connected to behaviors, rights, beliefs and obligations. An example from the article is how most parents no matter their income or environment believe that they are doing a great job raising their children, and that they are good parents. Social hierarchies are found in any society in which some groups or individuals are elevated above others. Social structure- system of socioeconomic stratification, social institutions, or, other patterned relations between large social group. The article states differences between single parents, and two parent"s households and then connects that data to race and ethnic groups.
