Enlightened understanding: citizens should have equal access to discover and validate (i. e. deliberate) the choices, can"t inform decisions, have to be able to debate ideas and have different viewpoints and ideas. Control of the agenda: the people (demos) should have control over the agenda, not everything but the theory is there and it worked better with smaller amount of people. Equality: not everyone can participate equally in the political process. Majority rule: maybe the majority shouldn"t rule.
