School districts for both private and public schools. Population density: measures the number of persons per square mile or km. Physiological measure of population density: more accurate measures using the amount of arable land area as the denominator. High vs. low less arable land vs. more arable land. Non-agricultural- a spatial concentration of people whose lives are organizes around nonagricultural activities. Urban is a function of: population size, space (land area) Fertility is usually higher in rural areas rather than urban areas (wealth flow, types of jobs people have, space for children, cost) Educational attainment is usually lower in rural areas: economic production in the area. Limited resources (health infrastructure for large numbers) Mental health (stressful competition for jobs, traffic) Don"t know demography of the population because they are there illegally but no way to enforce the law: moving for jobs, education.
