Hyperthymesia highly superior autobiographical recall (hsam) Able to remember every single day of their lives, over a span of many years. Able to recall exactly the exact details of that day. Have an exceptional capacity for remembering their own lives. No advantage in remembering other sorts of content or performing other mental tasks. 1992, a cargo plane lost power and crashed in amsterdam, killing 43. Researchers asked 193 dutch people if they saw the tv film of the moment the plane hit the building. >50% said they did see the film. Asked another 93 people about details of the crash. 2/3s said they saw the film, most were able to provide details. Only 23% said they couldn"t remember the planes speed. The car crash that killed princess diana. No video footage 44% of british participants said they recall seeing the footage. More persistent questioning can lead some of these people to admit they actually don"t remember seeing the video.
