Document Summary

I consider the past geology field trip to be a critical part of my overall geology lab experience. I seriously enjoyed being able to actually go out into the field and identify samples, not just identify the same. Perfect samples that we always got to see in lab. It was fun to be able to observe and deduce what kind of rock we were looking at just by using information we have gathered this semester in lab. 1: pedlar massif, blue ridge complex, i was able to identify the rock partially metamorphosed granite. By minerals that i could recognize (quartz, biotite mica, feldspar) engrained in the rock. However, i think my classmates and i were partially focused on the ducks. At stop 2-a, i was able to deduce that the rock we saw was the weathered version of the rock we saw at stop number 1.
