Document Summary
Political culture: a set of beliefs and symbols and attitudes about a political system. It"s both a way of thinking and a way of behaving that forms the basis of a political system. Most often, we are talking about beliefs and ideas that are held by society and by the people. This is also transmitted at the level of society. We focus less on the individual and more on the systemic nature. Thoughts and ideas and behaviors that are believed often and are transmitted throughout society. Varies from nation to nation, but it is always determined by a couple of things. All of these things help form the political culture of a society. Public opinion and general values, these may or may not be related to legitimacy. We either overgeneralize in political culture (we think a culture is more widespread than it actually is) or we misunderstand representations of that culture.
