A. Archaic Homo sapiens
- Species with modern sized brains in skulls that retained archaic features.
- Draw line when brain size reaches modern proportions
- This is when we stop calling them h. erectus
- Features are still very robust
- Descend from Homo erectus between 400 and 200 kya
- Splitters classify early archaics into Homo heidelbergensis
