Blood cells + tissue fluid intro: carbon dioxide is transported in 3 ways in in vertebrates, carbonic anhydrase catalyzes the chemical reaction in both directions. It takes c02 and makes carbonic acid: happens spontaneously, carbon is now in bicarbonate atom. Veins have a little bit of smooth muscle because they can serve as revere of blood for cells.
