Grading: Your overall grade will consist of the following:
Quizzes - 20 %
Midterm 1 - 20%
Midterm 2 - 20%
Final - 40%
Quizzes: The quizzes will be given during discussion sessions. Please see your TA for questions
about quizzes.
Suggested Homework: It is strongly recommended that you try and do the suggested homework
problems. Though it is not graded, you will benefit greatly by doing these problems. A list of
suggested homework questions for each section (for 8th editions of the textbook) is posted on the
class webpage.
Midterms: Midterms will be given during lecture. The first midterm is on October 24, 2018 5:00-
5:50p and the second midterm is on November 19, 2018 5:00-5:50p. There will be no make-up
midterm exams. In case of a legitimate verifiable emergency contact me as soon as possible. All
exams (and quizzes) are closed book, closed notes, NO calculators or any other electronic devices
are allowed. Please bring a legible photo ID to the exams.
Final: Final exam is on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 10:30-12:30p.
