Part 1 of the paper: concise but effective summary of papers 1 & 2, think new reader, think map, not the territory, set aside time to write this, come back and re-write after you complete the paper. In my first paper, i focused on the overrepresentation of indigenous children in the child welfare system. In the case of this, i spoke with a non-indigenous worker who has been working with indigenous children and families for over 20 years. What needs to change is that, the education system needs to start focusing more on the issues this vulnerable population is facing in the society. With there being a lack of funding, programs are not as successful. Part 2 of the paper: emerging philosophy of practice (what will critical social work look like for me, in my context).
