Planning does not do away with chance, but manages it by anticipating potential responses to contingencies: life management: know your needs, desires, ideals, values, principles and aspirations, prioritize them, progressively clarify and (if need be) revise them. People are good at self-deception: career management: what activity best fits with or most fully expresses (1) and plan accordingly -> irrespective of money, power, fame, etc. The good judge: having prudence (phronesis) and temperance (will power) to judge situations aright and perform what they demand in order to achieve the the highest good achievable in action" (90) happiness.
