Document Summary

Glandular epithelia: glands are found in the submucosa of the respiratory system. The respiratory system conduction portion: trachea, respiratory epithelium, columnar ciliated cell. Differentiate into: chords of secretory cells (associated to fenestrated capillaries). Pancreas: pancreas: structures produce hormones that reach the capillaries, small follicles (associated to fenestrated capillaries). Thyroid: thyroid: cells producing hormones form a follicle; inside there"s follicle fluid (hormones are released and stored on the inside). Eventually cells take hormones out, further process them and release them to the capillaries. Exam question describe epithelial glandular tissue: describe all glandular epithelial classification listed above. Possess glands and ciliated cells to remove foreign particles. Hyaline cartilage rings joined by fibrous tissue respiratory epithelium and lamina propria (layer of loose ct very cellular, see many dots) Mucosa is the wet surface of many organs (as compared to the skin which is dry) submucosa. Cells are small pyramidal with a round nucleus. All rest on the bm (they are epithelial)
