Database initial study starts from analyzing company situation, need to know the business goal and mission. Organizational structure is important, how information is exchanged within and between. Then we need to focus on main problem, the area of data processing activities. If there are issues with data processing, the process of redesigning of the database must be initiated, our objective should highlight the database we are working with, the scope tells us the problem that the data will solve. We need to understand boundaries, inside or outside database, what data is required and needed to be stored or processed. After the study of database, we will arrive at system definition which includes: the user groups that use the database, such as it support, admins, students etc. For each user group we specify data requirement, the access restriction for each group.
