SOC 112 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Fucus, Cornea, Optic Chiasm
Document Summary
Sensation: is the physical energy from the environment must enter our body has to enter our nervous system. Those physical energy is it must be converted into a neural signal that can be transported to your brain and this conversion from a physical signal or physical energy to a neural signal is called. Transduction is carried out by sensory receptors in different parts of our body depending on what sensation that we"re talking about. When the singles go into the brain, it can construct some sort of conscious awareness. Majority of cornea focus on the lens, but the cornea does initial focus: cornea is a protective one and it clears the outer covering and protect our eyes from different kind of object getting into our eyes. Pupil: the light energy passes through the cornea and next it reaches the pupil. The role of pupil is to control the amount of light that gets into our eyes.
