Case studies: a descriptive technique in which one individual or group is studied in depth in the hope of revealing universal privicipes. Main purpose: to observe and record unique behavior. Naturalistic observation: a method where subjects are observed in their natural environment; no manipulation or control by researcher. Like all descriptive studies, naturalistic observations do not explain behavior, they describe behavior. Survey: a technique for ascertaining the self-reported attitudes or behaviors of a particular group, usually by questioning a representative, random sample of the group. Ex: personality surveys, anxiety surveys, quality of life survey, target market analysis questionnaire. Wording bias: when the wording of a question systematically influence the response.
