Mass incarceration refers to unprecedented scale & social concentration of people leave prison imprisonment in the us. In the us, around 637,000 people are released from prison each year. In canada, around 100,000 people are released from prison each year. Jeremy travis but they all come back . In context of tough on crime/mass incarceration in us need to be concerned about how society is going to reintegrate people released from prison. Even if you"re a tough on crime person (serve longer sentences, people should be punished) not going to do any good.
