Today"s discussion: physical, aces, cognitive, theory of mind, language, social, personality, Family functioning (at this age, they begin to realise they are actually embedded in a family). Physical changes: btwn 4-6, changes are dramatic than the first year, but still impressive. Motor development - first 2 rows are for toddlers. Runs, walks well, climbs stairs with both feet, pushes & pulls objects, unscrews jars. Shows hand preference, stacks 4-6 blocks, turns pages one at a time, picks up things without overbalancing. Runs easily, climbs furniture, hauls & shoves toys. 3-4 years walks upstairs one foot/step, skips on two feet, tiptoe walks, pedals & steers, walks in any direction pulling a large toy, jumps. Catches a large ball (outstretched arms), scissors, pencil holding. 4-5 years walks up & down stairs one foot/step, stands, runs, & walks on tiptoe. Strikes ball with bat, kicks & catches ball, threads beads on a string, grasps pencil properly.
