In linguistic, the term text refers to: the original words of something written, printed, or spoken, in contrast to a summary or paraphrase, a coherent stretch of language that may be regarded as an object of critical analysis. Traditionally, a text is understood to be a piece of written or spoken material in its primary form (as opposed to a paraphrase or summary). The phrase text type" is a way of classifying and defining different types of language interaction, both spoken and written. It refers to the purpose of a text and the way it is written. Texts can also be defined or classified according to their form: the overall shape and structure they take or the context in which they are found. When considering a text we need to think about is: context. Who they (producer and consumer) are vis- -vis one another.
