Our group was unable to come to a consensus on the best recourse to prevent further increase of drug use in lubbock. Each viewpoint was represented, however there was little discussion of the group regarding the best course of action. It was actually very easy to represent my specific viewpoint, since it was a somewhat narrow- minded approach to answer a complex issue. The insights that i got from other viewpoints was very interesting. Each viewpoint had very good reasons why their course of action was the best and provided good examples of each. For example, my viewpoint was one of the educator. It is very important for prevention professionals to be familiar with different viewpoints because not every individual perspective will be the same. The issue of addressing the drug problem in lubbock will require a viewpoint of several different perspectives to be addressed.
