Document Summary

What is the difference between specular and diffuse reaction and give examples. Diffuse reflection: reflected rays go in different directions because of bumpy (rough) surface. When you have a rough surface, and light is coming in from a source, we can"t see our reflection because the rays are getting all messed up and fizzy because it"s a very bumpy surface. This is the same thing you see when you have the surface of the lake and there"s ripples across form it, you can"t see your reflection across from it. Ex: white surface, lake with ripples, can"t see reflection, water surface with waves, crumpled piece of aluminium foil. The difference between a piece of white paper and mirror is that both of these things reflect right, but one of them you can see your reflection in and one of them you cannot. It is different because the mirror does not look like that under the microscope.
