Mice can (hypothetically) have two different coat colors; neon red & neon blue. A mouse with a "neon red" coat color is bred to a sibling which also has the "neon red" coat color phenotype. Fifty percent of their F1 progeny have the neon red phenotype & the other fifty percent have neon blue. The P-gen mice are an example of pure-breeding mice.
