Q1: Discuss why mean is the most widely used measure of centraltendency in the health science research? Justify your answers withevidence.
Answer: In medical research the measure of central tendency iseverywhere. But by far the most important and frequent use aremean, the median, and the mode which is most frequent value in thedistribution. Mean is most commonly used measure of centraltendency with varied types i.e. arithmetic, weighted, geometric,and harmonic mean.
The mean uses every value in the data and hence is a goodrepresentative of the data. It is closely related to standarddeviation, the most common measure of dispersion.
