Letâs consider an individual having end-stage ALS which results in the degeneration of the motor neurons and thus limit the neural command send by the nervous system to develop the appropriate muscular force. The EMG of one of his/her muscle affected by the disease is recorded at the medical center. Compared to healthy individuals would you expect to observe a higher or lower a RMS of the EMG when this muscle is employed during movement execution? Why? Please provide Source.
