Occurence of many diseases caused by faulty genetics, such as down sydrome, the cause of the disease is due to an extra chromosome. Why would this extra chromosome mutation occur in meiosis rather than mitosis? Why? (no need to give general background of meiosis or mitosis) Include information on daughter cells and how they're not passed laterally. 200 words minimum please.
