I want to know some specifics about "skin mapping" for changes in freckles, moles, skin texture, etc. Recently, at my annual gyno appointment, my doctor asked if I had ever had "skin mapping" done. Since I have blonde hair and am light skin, she recommended it as a "baseline". My appointment is coming up. What am I in for? Will it help? Will it hurt? Will my insurance pay for all of it? How "good" is this technique/procedure for catching pre cancer cells? (What is a pre-cancer cells versus a cancer cell?)
