What are the controlled, manipulated, and disturbance variables (may be more than one for each type) in a kidney dialysis unit? How does the length of time for the dialysis treatment affect the waste concentration?

The kidney dialysis unit is a continuous process used to remove waste products in the body. The blood flow rate is maintained by a pump, and "ambient conditions" (i.e. temp in unit) are controlled by adjusting a flow rate. It is continued long enough to reduce waste concentrations to acceptable levels.
