How would you prepare 250 mL if a .20 M formate buffer with a pH of 4.0 using formic acid (HCH02) and sodium formate (NaCHO2)? formic acid pka= 3.8
Ans: 1.38 g formic acid + 1.36 g NaCHO2
How Would you prepare the buffer above using just sodium formate?
Ans: 3.4 g
How did they get these answers?!?! please explain...
