I need help with #9. I am suposed to use qualitative data from the reaction instead of looking up values.
ANO (g) 6H20 (g) + 502 (g) -â 4NH3 (g) + 6. Question 19.86, page 851. 7. Question 19.98b, page 852. 8. Acetic acid can be manufactured by reacting methanol with carbon monoxide CH30H (I) + co (g) CH3COOH (/). -â (a) Calculate the equilibrium constant for the reaction at 25 °C. (b) Industrially, this reaction is run at temperatures above 25 oC. Will an increase in temperature produce an increase or decrease in the mole fraction of acetic acid in an equilibrium mixture? Why are elevated temperatures used for this reaction? 9. Given the following AH data for the reactions below, state whether each reaction would be spontaneous at low temperatures, high temperatures, all temperatures, or not at all? Explain. PC13 (g) 2 NH, (g) 2N20(g) + Cl2 (g) -â PCIs(g) --> N2(g) + 3H2(g) --> 2N2 (g) +02 (g) a) b) c) AH 92 kJ AH=-164 kJ Electrochemistry Chapter 20 . (a) Write out each nonbalanced reaction below, then above each atom state the oxidation number; and also state which species is being reduced, which species is being oxidized, which species is the reducing agent, and which species is the oxidizing agent. (b) Balance each reaction by the method of half-reactions a) Mno,-(aq) + C3O42. (ag) -â MnO2 (s) + b) BH4-(aq) + Cl03-(ag)-â H2BO3(aq) + CO32-(aq) (Basic soln) Cl-(aq) (Acidic soln) (treat boron as a metal)
