Structure "A" is an intermediate in both acetal formation (shown in the equation below) and acetal hydrolysis (the reverse reaction). Both occur in aqueous acid (H2O/H3O+). Using curved arrow notation, draw the mechanistic step that Structure "A" undergoes in the forward direction (i.e.. towards formation of the acetal) and in the reverse direction (i.e., toward restoration of the ketone) using the appropriate boxes. Note that you will be drawing the next intermediate in each pathway, not the final product. Show all nonzero formal charges and lone pairs in your structures.
