The MO’s of methylene, :CH2 in which all electrons are paired, are shown below. They are arranged by increasing energy from bottom to top. Which orbital will hold the highest energy electrons?i know the lowest-energy unoccupied MO would be C because it is the LUMO ( lowest unoccupied molecular orbital) and a and b are antibonds and d is the homo (highest occupied molecular orbital), but im not sure how to answer this question.
