The following reactions occur in the Reformer: CH4 2 H20 CO2 4 H2 (1) CH4 H20 CO 3 H2 (2) Fifteen percent excess steam (H20), based on Reaction (1), is fed to the Reformer. The conversion of methane is 100%, with 95% yield of CO2. The methane feed contains 2 mol% nitrogen as an impurity. The product stream from the Reformer is sent to the Co Converter, where the following reaction occurs: 2 CO O2 2 CO2 A stoichiometric amount of oxygen is fed to the CoConverter and the conversion is 100%.
