We performed the lab Fischer esterication of benzoic acid. Following this mechanism.
We are asked to calculate the percent yield. We used 10.0g of benzoic acid and 25ml of methanol. The final product after short path distillation weighed 8.236g which would be my actual yield. But how would I calculate my theoretical in order to obtain my percent yield.
