Using the data below for the reaction:
2NOCl(g)-->2NO(g)+Cl2(g)
Find the order with respect to NOCl
Experiment [NOCl]0 (M) Initial Rate (M/s)?
1 0.30 0.36 x 10-8
2 0.60 1.44 x 10-8
3 0.90 3.24 x 10-8
I got the answer: the order of the reaction wrt NOCl is second.(Hope it's right)
Could you have just simply used the stoichiometry of the reactionto determine the order with respect to NOCl? Explain.
