Okay, I know how to balance an equation once it is set up for metodo the calculations, but how do you GET the initial set up? Icannot figure this out. If you were asked :


"When NaOH mixes with HCl, what is the balanced equation?"Howdo you find out the part in the red to begin with..I can balanceitif I had the red part, but I can't find the part in the red.I'msure it has something to do with the periodic table, but Ijustcan't grasp it. How do you know to put Na with Cl and Hwith2O's?

NaOH + HCI = NaCl +H2O
