Charles’ Law Experiment

you determined the relationship between volume and temperature for air (which is a mixture of different gases). Suppose a fixed quantity of air is maintained at constant pressure as the volume decreases from 7.75 L to 2.25 L. At 7.75 L, the temperature is 60 °C.

1. What is the equation that describes Charles’s Law?
2. What is 60 °C in Kelvins?
3. When the volume is decreased from 7.75 L to 2.25 L at constant pressure, the temperature will decrease. What is the temperature (in Kelvins) at 2.25 L?
4. Charles’s Law is supposed to describe an ideal gas. How is it that we can use air (a mixture of gases) in this experiment?
