A Ni+2 solution (2 x 10-4 M) complexed with 8-hydroxy quinolinol yielded 22.3%T when measured at 365 nm in a 1.00 cm cell. A 0.100g unknown sample, analyzed by the same method, was dissolved and diluted to 250 mL. A 50.0 mL aliquot of this solution was complexed with 8-hydroxyquininol and diluted to 100.0 mL, yielding a transmittance of 12.7%. What is the % Ni in the unknown sample?
The correct answer is 8.1% but I don't know how to get to that.
Please show all steps.
