Acetic Acid reacts with ethanol to form ethyl acetate and water. The reaction is as follows: EtOH + AcOH yields EtOAc + H2O

The fresh feed to a reactor for the formation of ethyl acetate is comprised of two streams, acetic acid and ethanol, which are fed at a flow rate of 160 mol/min each. The effuent from the reactor contains EtOH, AcOH, EtOAc, and water. The effluent undergoes fractional distillation, and the reactants form a recycle which joins the fresh feed. The water is discarded, and the ethyl acetate is sent to a series of storage tanks. The k for the equlibrium expression is 0.23.

a) What is the flow rate of the recycle stream?

b)What kind of inputs would cause the balance to give impossible results?
