Step-by-step explanation

Step 1.

Stem plot also known as stem and leaf plot. In stem plot, each observation is divided into stem and leaf. The leaf consists of a final significant digit. An overall pattern and if any outlier is present can be understood from an outlier.

In stem plot, the stems are written in a vertical line from smallest to largest then a vertical line is drawn to the right of the stems. Then the leaves are written in increasing order next to their corresponding stem.

For example: if a two-digit number is there, then tens digit will be in the stem and units digit in the leaf.

An outlier is a data point which is different from the rest of the data points. An outlier can easily be identified from a stem-and-leaf plot. The data value that is far away from the rest of the observations is known as an outlier.
